Ways to get to Kaliningrad

Owing to the city's unique geographical position and the number of travel options connecting Kaliningrad to European and other countries, your costs of travel to Kaliningrad will be minimal! Use various alternatives to get to Kaliningrad: take a 'door-to-door' minibus or embark on a plane, take a train or drive a car, get on a ferry or use other types of transportation.

Minibuses - "Door-To-Door" Service!

This is a very popular service in Kaliningrad - taking a minivan to and from Europe. There are dozens of these small coaches running between the city and Europe every day. There are regular schedules for destinations in Poland, Germany and the Benelux countries and occasional 'upon request' schedules to other destinations in Europe. They can deliver you and your luggage from the doorsteps of your house directly to your host family or other places of accommodation in Kaliningrad. As a rule, the minibus arrives at the train station of your city and then it can pick you up and your luggage from your home.

Please inform us in advance of your wish to use this type of transportation. We will order the trip for you. The tariffs are generally rather low and depend on a destination point. Tariffs for central and eastern parts of Germany are lower; tariffs for France are a bit higher. Usually it takes 12-24 hours to get to Kaliningrad (e.g. 12 hours from Berlin; 24 hours from Brussels).

By Plane To Kaliningrad

You may well travel to Kaliningrad by plane. There are many domestic flights to Kaliningrad from the rest of Russia and the CIS, just in case you decide to come to us via Moscow or St-Petersburg or any other Russian city. Direct international flights to Kaliningrad are operated by the two airways companies - LOT (Polish flight operator) and DAT (Danish flight operator). You can fly to Kaliningrad directly from Warsaw and Copenhagen.

There are two options to consider your travel to Kaliningrad via Warsaw. Firstly, you can take a plane to Warsaw and then fly all the way to Kaliningrad. Transfer from the airport is included in your registration fee. Secondly, you can fly to Warsaw, and we will arrange a taxi transfer to Kaliningrad from Warsaw airport. Transfer price: 130 Euro per a taxi. The latter option proves to be cheaper, especially if you are coming in a group. You may also choose to fly to Gdansk or Vilnius, and we will organize a transfer to Kaliningrad from these locations.

By Car To Kaliningrad

Kaliningrad is in the center of Europe. Traveling distance to Kaliningrad is moderate. The distance from Paris and Brussels to Kaliningrad is approximately 1500 kilometers, from Hamburg - 900 km, and from Berlin - 580 kilometers only! You can travel to us on your own by car.

By Ferry To Kaliningrad

Scandinavian citizens have an option to embark on a ferry to Gdansk or Klaipeda. This means of commuting may possibly prove to be a very convenient way to Kaliningrad. We will organize a taxi transfer from these two ports to the city.

By Train To Kaliningrad

A train from Berlin to Kaliningrad will be reinstated beginning the 14th of December 2003. This is a very comfortable train with sleeping cars. We will meet you at the railway station.

Other Transportation Means

Moreover, you can get to Kaliningrad:

• by international coach from various destinations in Europe;
• by hydrofoil running in summertime between Kaliningrad and the Polish towns of Elblong, Krinica Morska, and Frombork.
