Summer School II Note:
The first two weeks will be spent in Kaliningrad living in a host family and taking 24 hours of Russian lessons per week. The next two weeks you will spend at the Michaylovs' farmstead in Klyukvennoie, where you will have 20 hours tuition per week and enjoy everything the farmstead can provide with. And they have a lot to offer!

Summer School for teenagers
Summer School of the Russian Language 2004 for Teenagers
Summer School of the Russian Language 2004 for Teenagers (10-16 years old) will take place from July, 25 to August, 15. During these three weeks our younger students will have Russian classes and a plenty of amenities and leisure time at the Michaylovs' farmstead in Klyukvennoie. Klyukvennoie is distanced from Kaliningrad some 30 km away and approximately 10 km away from Svetlogorsk and the Baltic Sea. It is comfortable and close to nature at the same time. You will receive a rare chance to learn Russian in the countryside with all the conveniences of a city available. Another important feature: along with the summer school participants and teachers the farmstead will host a group of Russian teens. So, our young guests will have a splendid opportunity to practice Russian socializing with their peers and local residents!
Summer school for teens in 2004 is our prime offer, therefore it comes at a special low price of ˆ790. Everything is included: accommodation, three meals a day, study program, and a rich vacation program!
Note: The School provides a group leader free of charge for a group of 10 students. The Summer School 2004 accepts 25 young students maximum. Age: 10-16 years old. Please book in advance.
Summer school curriculum:
20 hours of tuition per week. Excursions are another means of enriching your Russian vocabulary.
Vacation program:
Horse riding school (there are stables with fine steeds at the farmstead);- Nature school (there is a mini-farm; the Svetlogorsk forest is only 200 meters away; two lakes are right behind the farmstead; Svetlogorsk Forestry and the Nature Museum are within a walking distance);
- Sports and entertainment program;
- bathing in the Baltic Sea (available every day if desired);
- Tours (Kaliningrad, Svetlogorsk, the Curonian Spit and much more);
- Countryside meals five times a day;
- Russian bahnya (wet sauna) every Sunday.
There is a 97-meter deep artesian well at the farmstead.
Accommodation:
- For girls: Apartment (75 sq.m.) with a fireplace, balcony, TV set; rooms are decorated with wooden wall panels;
- For boys: comfortable rooms and a large Studio in the attic.
Location of the farmstead in Klyukvennoie
The Michaylovs' farmstead is located in a village called Klyukvennoie (historic name Klycken). It was restored from the old farm remains. The Shatrov Lakes are only within 100 meters, the forest is only 200 meters away. The distance between the farmstead and the Baltic Sea is only 10 km, 20 km - between the farmstead and the Curonian Spit, and 30 km - between the farmstead and the city of Kaliningrad.
Living conditions:
An old Prussian farmstead before 1945. Reconstructed in 1999 ãîäà. Total area - 500 sq. m. Children will eat, sleep and have their classes on the territory of the farmstead.

Meals
Home-made meals are served five times a day in a nice dining room. The hosts of the farmstead pay their special attention to catering and cooking meals to serve the tastes of every guest. The food is cooked according to the traditional Russian cuisine recipes from ecologically clean farm products. If there is a need in special diet food, alternative meals will be served. Spring water from the artesian well is used for cooking.
Our specificity: nutrition plays an important role in recreational programs. A child may ask to cook something special for him/her. We offer this choice too.
- Example menu:
- Breakfast: "Makarevitch" (scrambled eggs on toasts), milk porridge, pancakes with home-made jam filling or with sour-cream, tea or coffee;
- First lunch: goat's/cow's milk with a bun;
- Lunch: Vegetable thick soup (borsch) with chicken-balls, staffed cabbage, raw cucumbers and greens, fruit drinks;
- Dinner: new potato, pork chop, vegetable salad, any soft drink;
- Late dinner: hot chocolate.
- At the farmstead there are:
- A mini-farm with various animals and poultry;
- A sports court and a football field, lawns, a pavilion, a barbeque area, an old orchard, vegetable plots, a hayloft, a set of swings, night outdoor ilumination;
- Sports equipment, fishing-rods.
Tours and excursions included in the vacation program:
- 1-week vacation:
- Nature Museum in Svetlogorsk;
- An overview tour of Kaliningrad and a visit to the World's Ocean Museum.
- 2-weeks' vacation:
- Amber Mining;
- National Park "The Curonian Spit".
- 3-weeks' vacation:
- Horse-breeding factory in Chernyakhovsk (the Kaliningrad region) of XIII century, Insterburg Tutonic Castle open to public;
- Zoo (year of foundation - 1896).
- Weekly:
- Tours of Kaliningrad (Amber Museum, The World's Ocean Museum, the Cathedral, the Kaliningrad Zoo, etc.);
